The popular Indian cricketer and former captain of Indian men’s national cricket team Mahendra Singh Dhoni is all set to produce a television show, according to a report in Mumbai Mirror. A source close to development told the news daily that the show will go on air in a few months.
Revealing some details about the show, the source said, “It is a series revolving around personal stories of military officers who have been feted for gallantry with top honours like the Ashoka Chakra and Param Vir Chakra. Dhoni knows the journey of the people who have selflessly served the nation and the hardships they have faced while doing so. He wants to bring them into the limelight through his show.”
The untitled show is currently being scripted, with the team sorting out the formalities to get the shooting started. There is no information available yet about the cast of the show.
Incidentally, Dhoni completed a two-week stint in August this year with the Territorial Army in Jammu and Kashmir. We wonder if that experience inspired the cricketer to go for such a show.
He was also conferred in 2011 the rank of honorary lieutenant-colonel in the Indian Territorial Army for his contribution in cricket.
Dhoni ventured into the space of entertainment business earlier this year. His company Dhoni Entertainment signed a long-term partnership deal with production house Banijay Asia — one of the world’s largest independent content creation companies.
