What went wrong with the Hindi Film Industry over the years? There was a time when we were known globally for the stories which were deeply rooted with originality. Filmmakers like Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Guru Dutt, Basu Chatterjee and many such contributed their whole life for the love of cinema. But now, if we go down the lane, Bollywood films have lacked originality and the industry has turned into more of a business firm.

A lot of old films are being remade, and many films with meaningless stories end up gaining big numbers at the box office. And due to which films which are filled with original content never reaches the audience and these films don’t even earn equal to their budget.

And when mainstream filmmakers are questioned about it, they end up saying, we serve the audience what they want. But is it not their responsibility to introduce audience to original content which is actually the definition of true cinema. Though every year they either sell us stories which are senseless or the easy one, they go for remakes in the name of paying tribute to the original one. But we as audience must know that they are the ones doing business here without even investing their creativity.

Story is an important part of a film and which is among the aspects which can take a long duration as it’s not an easy task to write an original script. But by the way of Remakes, these filmmakers are eliminating this important stage of filmmaking.

The further process here includes, casting popular actors, add masala songs and that’s their formula for big box office numbers. And these Remakes are packaged either in the name of Entertainment or as a Tribute to the original one.

But we all are well aware of the truth. So it’s time to bring a change, let’s watch Movies beyond Glamour and with this we can support the Good Cinema.
