Warner Bros. cleared the air on the release date of ‘Aquaman 2’, that the movie will hit the theatres on December 16, 2022.
The studio took the first step towards ‘Aquaman 2’ by bringing back David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick to write the script. The second installment will be produced by the ‘Aquaman‘ by director James Wan and Peter Safran. The hit movie had overperformed for the Warner Bros. as it has collected $325 million in North America and $784 million internationally. It has become the highest-grossing DC film of all times. It’s currently the 20th-highest worldwide grosser of all time.
Johnson-McGoldrick teamed up with Will Beall on the ‘Aquaman’ script, from a story by Beall Geoff Johns, and Wan.
Jason Momoa will return as the title character, with Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Nicole Kidman in supporting roles.
Earlier, Warner Bros. announced the horror movie spin-off to ‘Aquaman’ called ‘The Trench’, which will be produced by Wan and Safran.
‘Aquaman 2’ is slated to release on December 16, 2022, where Disney has already scheduled a yet to be titled live-action movie for the same slot.
