Bollywood film and television actress Neena Gupta, who was last seen in ‘Badhaai Ho‘ has confirmed the news about the sequel of her 18 years old TV show ‘Saans’. Neena will be directing and acting in the show and she has already started working for the second installment of the award-winning TV series titled ‘Saans 2’.
Neena told indianexpress.com, “I have pitched the idea to a few makers, and I am awaiting confirmation from them. I am also looking for a platform to showcase the show. However, I have made the pilot, and everything is ready. We will roll once things work out.”
Talking about the cast of ‘Saans 2’, Neena told us, “It will be the same star cast as before”. However, the makers are not sure if it will be a TV show or a web series.
Gupta added, “The show will be about the characters’ journey after eighteen years.”
The one of a kind hit TV show of the 90s, was based on the issue of the extramarital affair featuring Priya (played by Neena Gupta), Gautam (played by Kanwaljit Singh) and Manisha (played by Kavita Kapoor).
The 59-year-old actress will be next seen in celebrity chef Vikas Khanna’s directorial debut ‘The Last Color’, in which she will be seen playing a widow in Vrindavan who is not allowed to play Holi. The film is based on a book by the same name written by Vikas Khanna.
The film was premiered at the 30th Annual Palm Spring International Film Festival and is expected to release in India soon.
