A lot of films have got delayed this year, worldwide because of the COVID-19 pandemic. This makes it safe to call this year ‘The Year Of Delays’. Hollywood’s big-budget films have all got postponed and to this list, singing sensation Jennifer Lopez’s next film has also entered.

Starring Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson, their romantic comedy film titled, Marry Me is now going to release on May 14, 2021, in the US. Earlier the film was going to release on February 14, 2021, as per The Hollywood Reporter.

Kat Coiro has directed the film which Universal has backed. It is based on a graphic novel which Bobby Crosby wrote. The story is about a pop star (Lopez) who gets to know that her rockstar fiance cheated on her moments before their marriage at Madison Square Garden. Heartbroken, she picks a random man (Wilson) from the crowd to marry her.

Penning the film’s script is John Rogers, Tami Sagher, and Harper Dill. Apart from Jennifer and Owen Wilson the film also features Sarah Silverman, Jameela Jamil, and Jimmy Fallon.

Lopez was last seen in the 2019 crime drama film, Hustlers which also featured rapper Cardi B, Julia Stiles, Lili Reinhart among others. The film was a financial and critical success. It earned good reviews with particular praise being given to Lopez for her performance in the film.

Many critics hailed Lopez’s performance in Hustlers as her career’s finest ever, with some even deeming it to be an Oscar-worthy turn.

On the other hand, Owen Wilson was last seen in a film in Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch in 2017. He is currently also filming the Disney+ series Loki which stars Tom Hiddleston in the lead.
