Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut says that earlier she was being offered a role in the movie ‘Sultan’, but she refused it because she did not find the role interesting and she felt that the role would have been a demotion for her. She was being offered the lead role of female wrestler opposite Salman Khan, but she refused the role and later actress Anushka Sharma played the role and the movie became the blockbuster hit.
Kangana says that knowing today’s times she wants to do roles which will stimulate her mind and she did not find the script of the movie that good at that particular point of time. However, it was a great character of a girl to play, but she did not see anything for her in that movie.
The movie was being offered to her when she had done the highly successful movie ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ opposite actor R. Madhavan. Kangana feels that coming from a double role space and she did so much in earlier of her movies and she did not want to demote herself into something which was not offering her so much and that is the main reason of her not doing the movie.
Earlier, there were reports that she was being offered the role in the multi starrer movie ‘Thugs of Hindostan’, which is an upcoming action-adventure film, written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya. The movie features Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Shashank Arora in lead roles. However, she denied that role also and said that she does not even know what the script was.
Currently, Kangana is gearing up for her upcoming movie titled ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi‘, which is directed by Krish and produced by Zee Studios in association with Kamal Jain & Co-Produced by Nishant Pitti of EaseMyTrip.com. In the movie actress, Kangana will be seen portraying the role of Jhansi Rani Laxmibai.
Kangana says that every role she played till date has changed her in some of the other ways and her role in the upcoming movie is very different. She says that she would be playing the role of a fearless girl who set herself on fire because of a cause. Moreover, she says that when you listen to Rani Laxmi Bai’s story you’ll feel so small.
She says that we are so possessive about our small achievements when people have let go of so much for a bigger cause. This role has shown her the side of herself which she did not know.
The movie ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ also features Sonu Sood, where he will be seen playing the character of ‘Sadashiv’ and for that, he has already begun his preparation for the role.
The movie ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi‘ is all set to release on April 27, 2018.
