A hugely successful filmmaker, Karan Johar has also proved himself as a celebrated host. He has not only donned the hat for his popular talk show Koffee With Karan but has also hosted a number of film award ceremonies.

Now we have learned that the director will be hosting the opening ceremony of International Film Festival Of India (IFFI) that will be held from 20th to 28th November in Goa. This edition will mark the 50th anniversary of the film festival and Karan Johar has been roped in to host the opening ceremony of the golden jubilee edition of the festival.

Karan will also be the part of the Steering Committee which also include Siddharth Roy Kapur, Feroz Abbas Khan and Subhash Ghai.

The International Film Festival Of India is organized by the Government of India from 20-28 November every year in Goa. It aims at providing a common platform to the world of cinema to project the excellence of the art of film-making.

It is India’s most prestigious film festival and also the first International Film Festival held anywhere in Asia, being hosted by the state of Goa since 2004. T

he key sections at IFFI include International Competition, Festival Kaleidoscope, World Panorama, Indian Panorama, Masterclasses, In-conversations, Special Retrospectives, Homages, Open Air Screenings, Film Bazaar – organized by NFDC.
