Karan Johar is an Indian film director, producer, screenwriter, costume designer, actor and television personality who is primarily known for his work in Hindi films. He is the son of Hiroo Johar and the acclaimed producer Yash Johar. Johar made his directorial debut with the blockbuster romance “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai,’ which earned him the Filmfare Awards for Best Director and Best Screenplay.

Filmmaker Karan Johar posted a picture of his teenage days along with his father on his Instagram account while remembering his late father, Yash Chopra, on his 13th death anniversary. The founder of Dharma Productions, Yash Johar, died at the age of 74, on June 26, 2004, after battling cancer.  He captions the photo,”His teachings are my lifeline…..”

Karan Johar talked at length about his relationship with his father in his book ‘An Unsuitable Boy’. Without the support of his father, Karan would have never made it to the film industry. Karan revealed in his book that his father was his go-to person in every difficult situation of his life. Karan came out with his emotional side and the chapter where he mentioned about Yash Johar’s incurable illness and his demise made for the most emotional read in the entire book. Not only Karan his best friend Shah Rukh Khan was too broken with the news since he loved him like his own father. Sharing Shah Rukh Khan’s reaction Karan wrote in his book, “He just wept and wept, as if from his core. He cried and said, ‘I’ve lost one father, I can’t lose another.”
