Actor Kunal Kapoor recently created a buzz on social media for all the right reasons. He addressed how it is time to stop taking advantage of someone’s helplessness and encouraged his followers to stand against women trafficking. UnErase Poetry, a community that promotes and produces spoken word poetry, shared a video of Kunal Kapoor reciting a poem bringing to light something that has been neglected by the society and by us so far -the state of women who are left to sell their bodies to earn bread and butter. The actor tweeted:

“Every night when you drive back home, you cross that road where love is sold” being the first line of the poem makes sure that every word brings us closer to the grim reality that we’ve neglected all our life.The words that Kunal brought to life by evoking the right amount of emotion have been penned by Mohammed Sadriwala, Navaldeep Singh and Simar Singh. In the over three-minute video, the actor is seen narrating stories of a 16-year-old girl who went missing and a bride. Hrithik Roshan, Dia Mirza and Shruti Seth became the first ones to support the cause. The video also reveals that in India, a woman is forced into sexual slavery every three minutes and only one percent of these are rescued. Needless to say, the situation needs our intervention!
