The ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam is back in business after giving a hit multi-starrer, ‘Chekka Chivantha Vaanam’ starring Vijay Sethupati, Simbu, Arun Vijay, and Arvind Swami. Currently, Mani Ratnam is busy with the pre-production of his dream project ‘Ponniyin Selvan’.
If reports are to be believed the filmmaker is said to have approached Jayam Ravi, Karthi, and Vikram to play the lead roles in the film. Earlier, Vijay Sethupathi and STR were approached for the lead roles but they were busy with their prior commitments. Now, Ravi, Karthi, and Vikram are Mani’s first choice for the roles.
‘Ponniyin Selvan’ is Mani Ratnam’s dream project which will go on floors in 2020. Mani has also said to approached Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai to play pivotal roles on the film. The director’s favorite, A.R. Rahman will be composing the music for the film. An official announcement is awaited till Mani Ratnam finalizes the budget and the list of actors who will be associated with the film.
