Small screen actor Mayank Gandhi says that who says that nepotism only exits in the Bollywood. He says that if there is nepotism in the Bollywood industry then the small screen is also not devoid of it either. Mayank was last seen in the show titled ‘Kaala Teeka’ and he also played the pivotal role in the show titled ‘Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat’.
Mayank says that there are people in the television industry who also have their favorites and they like to work with them only. The remaining actors have to get themselves through the auditions and he feels that even the auditions are a sham because the makers of the show know well in advance that whom they want to cast. The makers have the fair idea about it.
However, he feels that another issue is the budgets which are allocated to the actors on a show. There are many established actors which come at a price which has been decided in advance. He says that the lead roles are often given to the fresh faces. He says that he does not have any problem when the makers of the show are launching the new face in the television. The makers usually take the new faces because the newcomers do not take that much fee which an established actor demands. In all this bargain, the actors who are really good and can do justice to the character are losing out of a good role.
Moreover, he says that he does not want to do the run-of-the-mill roles. He is very much excited about his role in ‘Mahakali – Anth Hi Aarambh Hai’, in the show he is playing the role of a blind demon, Shiva and Parvati’s son. Mayank says that he would like to do different roles every time. He says that he has not seen any actor till now playing the role of a blind demon. He is been training himself for hours without blinking his eyes just to get into the skin of the character. He wants to surprise the audience with his upcoming role and for him, it hardly matters if it is a mythological, fiction or a historical show.
Mayank says for him the most important is the role. When asked from the actor that does the reality shows excite him as well? On this Mayank says that he would love to do a reality show along with his wife Hunar. They would love to do a show ‘Nach Baliye’ together. However, he says that he would not mind doing a show ‘Big Boss’ either.
