Salman Khan announces his next film titled ‘Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali’

While his upcoming film Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai is scheduled to be released on 22 May this year, the occasion of Eid, Bollywood actor Salman Khan has also booked the occasion of Eid for the next year. He has announced his next film titled Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali to be released on Eid 2021.

While not much is known about the film yet, the film will be produced by Sajid Nadiadwala who has produced films like Kick, Housefull franchise, Baaghi franchise, Judwaa, Phantom and several others. The story of the film is also written by him. He has previously written screenplay of films like Housefull, Housefull 2, Kick. He will also produce the film.

Kabi Eid Kabhi Diwali will be directed by Farhad Samji who has directed Housefull 3, Housefull 4 and will also direct Akshay Kumar starrer Bachchan Pandey.

Salman Khan took to his social media account to make the announcement earlier today. He wrote, “Announcing my next film… KABHI EID KABHI DIWALI ….  STORY & PRODUCED BY SAJID NADIADWALA … DIRECTED by FARHAD SAMJI… EID 2021.”

The title of the film seems like a clever wordplay as Salman has had a number of his films released on the occasion of Eid. Bharat, which also starred Katrina Kaif and turned out to be a huge hit at the box office, was released on Eid last year. Dabangg, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Ek Tha Tiger, Sultan, Kick, Bodyguard and many other Salman’s movies have been released on the occasion of Muslim holiday.

Although the prevalent notion suggests Eid is Slaman’s favourite to release his films but there have been films that were released on Diwali in the past. Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, which starred Sonam Kapoor and Swara Bhaskar ,came out on Diwali in 2015. While this film made moolah at the box office, Diwali has not proved to be a very auspicious time for Salman’s  films. Main Aur Mrs. Khanna, Jaan-E-Man, Kyon Ki, Andaz Apna Apna were also released on Diwali but were not commercially successful. Hum Saath Saath Hain and Hum Aapke Hai Kaun, also released on Diwali, turned out to be iconic films.
