Sidharth Malhotra debuted in Bollywood with Karan Johar‘s ‘Student of The Year’, ever since he has played the roles of the boy next door in his films. In his upcoming film, however, the actor is all set to raise the bar for himself. Sidharth will play the role of Kargil Hero Vikram Batra in his next film.
As this film will have action scenes, the actor opened about his preparations for the biopic. In an interaction with Mid-Day, the 34-year-old actor said, “It will involve a lot of weaponry. I’m obsessed with weapons. My father had got me a pellet gun, the kind that was used in ‘Home Alone’ (1990), and I was obsessed with that. So, I’m excited to try different weapons for it.”
Sidharth also revealed that the Vikram Batra’s biopic is expected to kick off in April in order for the team to meet it’s early 2020 release. Captain Vikram Batra was an officer of the Indian Army who was awarded the prestigious Param Vir Chakra for his actions during the 1999 Kargil War.

Sidharth has two more projects lined up for him. He will be seen sharing the screen space with Parineeti Chopra in the movie ‘Jabariya Jodi’. The film has been produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and is Sidharth and Parineeti’s second collaboration. The duo has previously worked together in ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’.

The biopic on Vikram Batra is slated to hit the theatres in 2020. Sidharth had also revealed that the work on the biopic will kick off in April.
