Not Coronavirus but cardiac arrest is the cause of singer-composer Wajid Khan’s death. Wajid who passed away on June 1, also tested positive for the Coronavirus. His brother, Sajid Khan confirmed this news.

Sajid expressed his gratitude towards the staff of doctors who treated his brother and also revealed that Wajid got a kidney transplant last year. He further revealed that wajid was receiving treatment for a throat infection in the hospital. The musician stated all of this in a statement he posted on Instagram.

In his statement Sajid said,

“Dr Prince Surana was like a family and cared for Wajid like a brother with his team of doctors.”…the entire hospital staff who had been treating Wajid and taking care of him beyond the call of duty and had left no stone unturned for his treatment.”

After the demise of Wajid, a day later Sajid-Wajid’s mother Razina Khan tested positive for the Coronavirus. While, Wajid too tested for positive for the virus and speculation was rife that the virus took his life, his brother Sajid in an interview to the ‘Press Trust of India’ revealed the cause of his death as Cardiac arrest.

The musician duo made their debut in Bollywood with Salman khan’s 1998 blockbuster ‘Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya’. They became a constant collaborator with Salman with whom they share a close bond. They gave music for his films like Dabbang, Garv, Veer, Wanted, Jai ho among others.

Wajid’s death sent shockwaves ringing in the entire industry, with several industry peeps expressing their condolences on social media websites.

Wajid also sang as a playback singer for Salman in some of his films and gave songs such as Mera hi Jalwa and Fevicol se.
