Richa Chadha is planning to step in a producer’s shoe and bankroll Shuchi Talati’s next project, a teenage love story.
Shuchi is currently based in the Big Apple and has written a script, which intrigued Richa, to such an extent that she decided to finance the project. According to sources, Shuchi and Richa are close friends. Shuchi is a filmmaker and her script revolves around a coming-of-age teenage love story.
On the question of turning into a producer, Richa answered, “Today, there are many opportunities for actors and they can dabble in writing, directing, producing and more.” She also gave examples of actors who are doing good, both on and off screens.
Richa is currently working on a biopic on South Siren Shakeela and the film will hit theatres soon. She debuted in Bollywood with ‘Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!’ with a very tiny role. She bagged her first lead role in’Msaan’. The film received a standing ovation at Cannes Film Festival.
She was widely appreciated for her role in ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, which even earned her Filmfare award. ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ became the turning point in Richa’s career and since then, it was no turning back.
