Nokia 9.3 PureView is the most anticipated and elusive device of 2020. The device from HMD Global is the one that was supposed to sit next to some other flagship phones like Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, iPhone 12 and OnePlus 8T has been now delayed to 2021. The latest information has arrived a few days after it was reported that HMD Global’s flagship smartphone will launch sometime in December 2020 after multiple delays.

According to Nokia anew on Twitter, the launch of Nokia 9.3 PureView which will have some top-of-the-line specifications has been delayed to 2021. Even with the new information, there is too much ambiguity regarding the launch date. the first half of 2021 will mean that Nokia 9.3 PureView might launch anytime between January and June, delaying the smartphone further by eight months. The tipster said that the new development was confirmed by an internal source and that it was not a joke.

The fate of Nokia 9.3 PureView is unclear at this point of time. HMD Global confirmed that the phone exists when the company’s chief product officer Juho Sarvikas unveiled the company is taking note of the colour variants of Nokia 9.3 PureView. But nothing has been confirmed about the launch of the phone. The rumour mill has been churning out the information that has so far been incorrect, mainly about the launch of the phone if not anything else.

From March to December 2020, Nokia 9.3 PureView launch has teetered between various timelines at once. The final rumour stated that Nokia 9.3 PureView is set for launch in November but the news turned out to be untrue. While the launch timelines have been vague ever since the first rumour, the specifications of Nokia 9.3 PureView might not be false.

HMD Global is at present working with high-quality and advanced hardware for Nokia 9.3 PureView. The smartphone might come with an OLED display with high refresh rate, integrating an in-display fingerprint sensor and an under-display camera. The last one is a novel technology currently under testing by many mobile phone companies like Oppo and Xiaomi and the first commercial device was introduced by ZTE. Nokia might be devising methods to include this sensor on the phone.

Nokia 9.3 PureView might come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor. But now because the launch has been delayed, HMD Global might opt out for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 processor. This might be the reason why the company may have delayed Nokia 9.3 PureView to 2021. There will be upgrades to the phone’s camera and the company will retain the Penta-lens setup from Nokia 9 PureView. The Zeiss optics will be available on the phone.

The future is uncertain for Nokia 9.3 PureView according to the rumours. this just makes things worse for the company as all major companies have already launched their flagship devices. HMD Global has to be sure about the strategy for Nokia 9.3 PureView if they want to stay afloat in the flagship category. But if they want to cater the entry-level, budget and mid-range segments, maybe HMD Global does not need Nokia 9.3 PureView.
