As part of the deal between Nokia and Flipkart, Flipkart has launched a new media streaming device named Nokia Streamer.

Nokia and Flipkart have partnered to launch several new products under the brand name of Nokia. They launched a 4K TV recently.

Now Flipkart has come up with a media streaming device in order to give competition to MI Box 4K, Amazon Firestick, and Mi TV Stick. The Nokia Media streamer is priced at Rs 3,499.

It comes along with a Bluetooth remote. The remote comes with default function buttons and special keys for Google Assistant, ZEE5, and Netflix.

Talking about the specs of this device, it has a 1gb RAM and 8GB of internal storage. It comes with in-built play store so you could download your favourite android apps, like Hotstar, Prime Video etc. Google apps such as YouTube and Google Play Movies would be preinstalled along with Netflix and ZEE5.

You can stream your content in full HD resolution(1920×1080 pixels). It runs on the Google’s Android TV 9 Pie OS. The processor used in this device is unspecified bu the GPU used is Mali 450 GPU.

Well, there are already two or three very good running media streaming devices in the market. Amazon Fire TV stick is doing very well at the moment. There is a price gap of Rs500 between them. Amazon’s product cost you Rs 3,999. MI’s Box 4k is priced at Rs 3,499 and it comes with an extra 1GB of RAM and also it supports 4K.

So unless and until Flipkart’s product offers something different or better from MI Box I don’t think it will excel. It may excel very well because of the brand name of Nokia but in the long run if they want to exceed their sales more than MI, they have to offer something better because people are already using MI Box which came first in the market.
