Since the last few months, there have been lots of rumours regarding the OnePlus smartwatch. Recently, a hint about the launch of OnePlus Watch was given by tipster Max J who said that it might come with a circular display. Detailed information is still not known but it might be launched with OnePlus 8T.
The smartwatch was certified last month by Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority or IMDA. The certification hinted towards the early launch of the smartwatch. It will be the first wearable product from OnePlus along with earphones and smart TV.
Sources are still waiting to know about the platform where the OnePlus smartwatches would operate because the WearOS of Google is catching up with Apple and Samsung. Recently, Oppo launched their first WearOS smartwatch with a square dial which received positive reviews from public. Sources have however claimed that even Vivo is planning to launch their own circular smartwatch.
OnePlus originally had plans to launch their smartwatch a few years ago but it was scrapped as they thought it might not be the right time to launch the product at the market. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau mentioned that a large number of OEMs have released their products and adding one more product would not help to strengthen the lineup of OnePlus products.
