JioPhone 2

Reliance JioPhone 2, which is a second-generation smart feature phone from Reliance, will go on a flash sale tomorrow. The handset has been available through flash sales several times since the launch and is set to go on sale again at 12:30 PM IST tomorrow from Jio’s website. The JioPhone 2 offers QWERTY keyboard design, unlike candy bar design that its predecessor offered. The device was launched in July last year, nevertheless, Reliance continues to sell the original JioPhone as the JioPhone 2 could not garner much attention.

The JioPhone 2 offers several upgrades over its predecessor including horizontal viewing experience and support for full QWERTY keyboard. There are minor changes in terms of design and features, however, under the hood, the devices remain the same as they are both powered by the same processor.

In terms of specification, the Reliance JioPhone 2 comes with a 2.4-inch QVGA display and 4G connectivity support. As mentioned above, the device has a QWERTY keyboard for better typing experience. the feature phone has a 512MB RAM coupled with 4GB of onboard storage which can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.  There is a 2-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel selfie camera for selfies and video calling.

The JioPhone 2 runs KaiOS, which is a smart operating system designed for feature phones. The Reliance JioPhone 2 supports Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube, Google Maps and Google Assistant. The JioPhone 2 also supports 4G VoLTE and packs a 2,000mAh battery. It is priced at ₹2,999.
