It was reported by the Indian Wire in April, that AC Milan footballer Zlatan Ibrahimovic might face 3 year ban for alleged involvement in Maltese gambling company.

It was reported that Swedish footballer is under the radar for his alleged involvement in Maltese gambling company.

Now the news has broken out that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been fined €50,000 ($61,000) by UEFA for his involvement with Bethard. The footballer’s alleged involvement gambling brand Bethard is violative of the FIFA Rules as Ibrahimovic’s Swedish company, Unknown AB, owns 10% of shares in Bethard.

As per Gambling Insider, a UEFA statement said: “The Chairman of the UEFA Appeals Body today took the following decisions: The Chairman of the UEFA Appeals Body also issued Mr. Ibrahimovic with a directive aimed at ceasing the player’s association with the relevant betting company.

“The Chairman of the UEFA Appeals Body decided to warn and fine AC Milan €25,000 for violating Article 12(2)(b) of the UEFA DR (in connection with Article 8 of the UEFA DR) for its player, Mr. Zlatan Ibrahimović, having a financial interest in a betting company.”

However, as recently Esports Entertainment Group is looking to acquire Bethard, it is not clear how Ibrahimovic’s stakes would be treated. The company is willing to pay $19.5m in cash and 12% of its net gaming revenue share for the next two years.
