With the people of Maryland all set for voting after two months, the gambling companies have find the opportune moment to materialize this time.

Two of the gambling industry giants, DraftKings and FanDuel are keen on capitalizing the voting wave in Maryland and have taken this opportunity to expand their market.

The gambling industry kings are pushing for legislation in Maryland to legalize sports gambling. In order to attract the attention of legislators in this direction the two companies have decided to spend on media campaign in favour of sports betting legislation.

This might end up providing an issue to people to vote for in coming elections.

DraftKings has put $250,000 into the campaign, which it already contributed in July, while FanDuel sinked twice that amount earlier this month. The two sports gambling and daily fantasy sports (DFS) operators began introducing ads this week on area TV channels, reported CalvinAyre.

They have also created a website specifically for this issue and to help with sports gambling legalization efforts.

Joining their efforts is France’s Tango Bourges Basket team member Marissa Coleman who is also leading a campaign to regulate sports betting in Maryland. On this issue she stated that, “Sports betting has been going on forever. It’s not like Marylanders aren’t betting on sports. This gives us the opportunity to regulate it and make sure there is protection in place for the consumer”, reported CalvinAyre.
