The Indian Wire had earlier reported that Nebraska voters will be voting on the issue of legalization of casino in the state on November 3.
Before the issue could be put to vote, it had to face serious hurdles to even become an issue to be voted upon.
However, horse racing industry is overjoyed as Nebraska voters have approved adding casino games at its horse racing tracks.
The voters approved three constitutional amendments to authorize it, tax it and put the revenue into property tax relief and allowed casino gambling at the horse racing tracks.
David Schwartz, a gambling historian with the University of Nevada Las Vegas stated that, “The addition of casinos in Virginia and racetrack casinos in Nebraska indicates that casino-style gambling is on the upswing as well. We have reached a point where voters seem satisfied that legalizing gambling will offer positive returns for their state”, reported abc News.
