Chief Minister of Goa, Pramod Sawant, announced the extension of curfew till July 26, 2021.

As an impact of the COVID-19 curfew, Delta Corp’s casinos in Goa hace announced that they will remain closed until further notice.

Earlier the curfew was supposed to end on July 19, however, due to re-surfacing of COVID cases in the state, the state government believes that easing the restrictions yet, might be counterproductive.

The restrictions which were placed on May 9, 2021, allow the shops to open from 7 am to 6 pm only.

According to Gambling Insider, Delta Corp said: “Due to the surge in Covid-19 cases being witnessed in Goa, the Government of Goa inter-alia has extended the restrictions in the state till 26 July 2021.

“Accordingly, the casinos operated by the company and its subsidiaries in Goa will remain closed during this period.”

Delta Corp added: “The Government of Sikkim has allowed reopening of the casinos in the state subject to the safety norms being followed.

“Further the company and/or its subsidiary operating the casino in the state of Sikkim will resume its operations from 6 July 2021, and will follow all the safety norms laid down by the state in this regard.”
