Varanasi Police busted IPL betting rackets recently and arrested a total of 10 people from different places.

Six people were arrested from Teliyana area of Lohta on Wednesday while four others were arrested from Lanka area on Tuesday, reported Hindustan Times.

Rupees 27,910, 7 mobile phones, an ATM card and a purse were recovered from the possession of the arrested accused persons from Teliyana while Rs 1.90 lakh were seized from the possession of  those arrested from Lanka area.

The accused have been identified as Ankit Singh, Sanjay Tiwari, Adarsh Kumar Singh, Anil Patel, Brijesh Kumar Gupta, Jai Prakash Patel, Santosh Kumar Maurya, Vikas Singh, Chunnu Kanaujia, Vikki Prajapati, reported Hindustan Times.

While in Delhi, police arrested Ashish Gupta (37), Yogesh (26) and Himanshu Rawat (29) on Wednesday from Saini Basti in KM Pur area of South Delhi for allegedly accepting bets on Indian Premier League 2020 matches, reported Outlook India.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Atul Kumar Thakur said, “At around 10.30 pm, a raid was conducted… three men were found betting on an IPL match and were arrested”, as reported by Outlook.
