MGM Resorts in wake of the COVID pandemic has moved to make one of its casinos in Las Vegas smoke free.

Park MGM of MGM Resorts will be the last one to be opened up in September this year amongst large chain of casinos that the brand owns.

This casino was renovated in 2018 and it set to be smoke free. MGM authorities emphasized that the pandemic forced them to consider various things and one of them was health of the city as a whole.

They stated that while Vegas is usually known as city for vices and guilty pleasures but they realized that some chunk of the crowd might want it to play neat. Further health issues have been arising since a long time due to passive smoking that resulted into various lawsuits as well.

In order to take care of the customers during COVID, their health in general, and to avoid nuisance law suits, the MGM Resorts has decided to make one of its casinos smoke free. This might be a permanent feature of Park MGM hinted the brand.

Anton Nikodemus, President and Chief Operating Officer of Park MGM stated that, “We’re making the facility completely non-smoking because of continued guest requests. We believe there is a high level of pent-up demand to have a non-smoking casino, especially here in Las Vegas”.

He also pointed to MGM Resorts properties in other states where smoking is prohibited, including MGM Springfield in Massachusetts and MGM National Harbor in Maryland, reported Mrt Insider.
