A new casino project has been proposed in Vietnam by the local authorities.

The authorities in Khánh Hòa, Vietnam have proposed a new casino project. The estimated cost for the project is reported to be $2.24bn.

The project is based on an island near the provincial capital of Nha Trang known as Hon Tre.

If the project is given the green light, it would be the second such casino to be approved in the region.

Reportedly, Vinpearl, a hospitality firm and part of the Vingroup conglomerate, would be a prominent backer of the project.
