FIFA 20 launched on September 27th. However, FIFA 20 arrived on EA Access for early access and along with it, EA also launched the FIFA 20 Web App which is live now. But after all the efforts and hard work EA put into the title, fans weren’t happy with the Career Mode, leading to #FixCareerMode trending on the Twitter following which EA had another big trouble to deal with as a FIFA 20 glitch exposed players’ personal details. But EA Sports released a major patch to fix the games’ unplayable Career Mode. To make its fans more excited, EA made a big announcement yesterday.
EA announced that it’s bringing South America’s biggest club tournament, CONMEBOL Libertadores, exclusively to EA SPORTS™ FIFA 20 as a free* content update. The new tournament will be added in March 2020 for PlayStation4, Xbox One, and PC. The inclusion of CONMEBOL Libertadores will make FIFA 20 as the most authentic sports video game, with more than 30 official leagues, 700 teams, 17,000 authentic players, and 90 licensed stadiums from all over the world already in the game.
CONMEBOL Commercial Director, Juan Emilio Roa said in a Press release “This alliance with EA, one of the largest video game companies, is a major step forward for the worldwide dissemination and image of South American football. Thanks to this agreement, our tournaments, clubs and players will have greater reach and recognition among the football fans who will have a whole new way to follow their heroes.”
EA announced that the addition of eLibertadores, a new tournament will continue to expand the EA SPORTS FIFA 20 Global Series. It will offer south American based players a new way to connect to the CONMEBOL Libertadores through the competition. The Grand finale of the eLibertadores tournament will have the top 8 competitors on March 7-8, 2020. The teams will have a chance to earn FIFA Global Series Points along with a $100,000 USD prize pool. The registration for the tournament will begin in December.
