JK Rowling recently has been under pressure recently due to her indecent comments about the trans community. JK Rowling is the author behind the Harry Potter franchise. It’s also reported that she doesn’t hold back on her transphobic writing either. Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe has also spoken out against Rowling’s transphobic comments.
Noted by Jason Schreier, WB Games President David Haddad has asked to detach Hogwarts Legacy from Rowling’s comments. David Haddad said that while Rowling’s creation is being brought to life by them, her private comments don’t affect the game. He said that Rowling has “the right to hold her opinions”. Haddad also said that WB Games is working with LGBTQ rights organizations to promote diversity. Moreover, he also spent an hour and a half with GLAAD. GLAAD is an American NGO founded by the LGBTQ people.
Hogwarts Legacy is set to release in 2021. It is an immersive, open-world, action role-playing-game. Set in the 1800s wizarding world, Hogwarts Legacy takes place prior to the events of Harry Potter. It puts players at the centre of their own adventure set in the HP Universe. Players will be able to master spells, formulate potions, train magical beasts, and other magical activities. Warner Bros Games is publishing “Hogwarts Legacy” under the label Portkey Games. And it is being developed by Avalanche. It’ll launch on array of devices – Xbox Series X , Xbox One X, PlayStation devices, and PC.
