PUBG update 0.16.0

PUBG Mobile is fond of staying in the news and all the time for good reasons. Recently, PUBG released 0.14.0 update which brought us new features like the Infection mode in Evo Ground along with a few visual updates and bug fixes. Then, Season 9 ‘Warriors Unite’ arrived which further added new features to the already hit title. And now, PUBG Corp. is introducing ‘The Walking Dead’ crossover which will bring in-game skins and items. But every coin has two aspects and the same goes for PUBG. PUBG has always been under scrutiny for allowing cheaters to get in the servers and ruin the fun. And now, in an attempt to curb the cheaters, PUBG mobile has announced a 10-year ID ban for people who cheat and violate the developer’s gaming standards.

The company said in a post:

“We have always strived to deliver a gaming environment that is fair and enjoyable for each and every player and prevent cheating. We take this issue very seriously; as such, each account in violation has received a 10-year ban. We would like to remind all players about the importance of fair play, and thank you for keeping PUBG MOBILE fair and fun.”

Interestingly, the company has already issued a 10-year ban to over 3500 players in September alone. Further defining cheating, PUBG Moblie lists the following categories as cheating:

  • cheating using auto-aiming
  • cheating tools
  • virtual tools and
  • modified in-game data

PUBG Mobile has been working for a long time to curb the number of cheaters in the game and it would be interesting to see how these new guidelines impact the cheaters in the game and if it proves to be helpful.
