Ayodhya's Dham Junction Gets Revamp, PM Flags Off New Amrit Bharat and Vande Bharat Trains

In a historic ceremony marking Ayodhya’s transformation into a major pilgrimage hub, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the redeveloped Ayodhya Dham Junction Railway Station and flagged off eight new trains, two Amrit Bharat and six Vande Bharat Express. The station, a gleaming symbol of modern infrastructure, stands testament to the government’s commitment to enhancing connectivity and convenience for devotees.

With a capacity to handle 60,000 passengers after completion, the new Ayodhya Dham Junction boasts modern amenities like lifts, escalators, food plazas, dedicated shops for puja needs, and child care rooms. Built with accessibility and sustainability in mind, the station aims to cater to all sections of society.

“These trains have been designed keeping in mind the dignity in the life of the poor,” remarked the Prime Minister, highlighting the focus of the new Amrit Bharat trains on providing affordable comfort to long-distance travelers. The trains feature enhanced onboard facilities like comfortable seats, ample luggage space, mobile charging points, and CCTV for security.

The inaugural day also witnessed the launch of six new Vande Bharat Express trains, connecting Ayodhya to key pilgrimage and cultural destinations like Katra, Amritsar, Shirdi, and Madurai. This network underlines the government’s vision of linking development with heritage, strengthening the connection between faith and tourism.

Speaking at the event, the Prime Minister praised the efforts of all those involved in Ayodhya’s transformation, emphasizing the positive impact it will have on the region’s economy and religious significance. He also dedicated three railway infrastructure projects worth Rs 2300 crore, further boosting connectivity and ensuring seamless travel for visitors and residents alike.

The launch of the Amrit Bharat and Vande Bharat trains, coupled with the redeveloped Ayodhya Dham Junction, marks a significant step towards enhancing accessibility and comfort for those traveling to Ayodhya. This, combined with the ongoing infrastructure projects, promises to usher in a new era of prosperity and spiritual connection for the holy city.
