In yet another episode of extending support to the major parties in the state, two independent lawmakers have extended their support to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and his BJP party today. MLA Mahesh Baldi and MLA Vinod Agrawal declared their support to the saffron party.

Mahesh Baldi is an MLA from Uran constituency and while Vinod Agrawal represents Gondia constituency. Earlier on Sunday,  Independent candidate MLA Rajendra Raut met Devendra Fadnavis and also extended his support to the saffron party. Rebel BJP MLA Geeta Jain from Mira Bhayandar constituency had also extended support for Bhartiya Janta Party. Devendra Fadnavis has also received the support from Yuva Swabhiman Party MLA Ravi Rana.

After the declaration of election results, BJP and Shiv Sena have been actively pursuing to increase their strength in the state with the support of independent candidates. The move can be seen in the background that both parties want to command greater influence in the formation of the next government.

Shiv Sena has also received support from many independent candidates such as Prahar Janshakti Party chief Bacchu Kadu and MLA Rajkumar Patel. NCP-backed candidate MLA Shankarrao GadakhMLAs Ashish Jaiswal and Narendra Bhondekar have also extended their support to Uddhav Thackeray.

The alliance of both parties has been witnessing heavy political instability as Shiv Sena is keen on pressing its demand for the implementation of 50:50 formula for the government formation, as iterated by Home Minister Amit Shah during Lok Sabha elections.

As per the 50:50 formula, a rotational arrangement will be the basis fo state government in which a Chief Minister from each party will split the five-year term equally.
