The BJP president Amit Shah has rolled out a new plan to strengthen its roots among the masses for the upcoming general elections. The party has decided to set up 28 call centers and a centralized call center, in Jagannath Bhavan which is the party head office.

Party general secretary has said that a call center has already started functioning in Bengaluru, while the constituency level call center will soon be activated.

These call centers aims to receive feedback from the party workers and hence strengthen the core position of the party at the booth level, said  N Ravi Kumar, the general secretary of the party.

The party high command has also decided to provide every BJP MP with a personalized team of publicists. An MP’s 23-member team will comprise of 15 people, 4-member social media team and 4-member media team.

According to the sources, recently, a high-level meeting, Shah issued instructions for each MP to be given a team of 23 volunteers who will manage the campaign — all of whom will be paid for by the party.

Out of 23, 15 people will be responsible for managing calls and sending SMS in bulk. As per PM Modi’s instructions to have at least 3 lakh likes on each MP’s page, there will be a team of 4 members looking after the social media presence of the leader. Four other volunteers will be part of the ‘media team’, who will be responsible to carry out publicity campaigns for MPs along with the government’s schemes and achievements.

“No one has ever seen teams like this on a pan-India scale,” a senior party leader told.

Party president Amit Shah is known for his micromanagement of elections, and this time too he is making sure that all the loopholes are covered.

These teams will ensure the press coverage of every rally, meeting and yatra planned and executed by the MP. The focus will be on local news and TV channels rather than big national newspapers or TV channels so that they remain connected with the people of their constituency.

To supervise these teams, the party president has also appointed a central team of about 18 or 20 members who have held important posts at the central or state levels, and know the organization properly.

“There is multiple-layer strategy for each constituency and this is one of the layers”, said a source.
