Himachal Pradesh will hold the assembly polls on 9 Nov and the counting of the votes will be done on 18 Dec along with the vote counts of Gujarat assembly polls. Ahead of the assembly elections in the state BJP is taking serious efforts to pull down the ruling Congress government and win the majority votes this time.

BJP has been using Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath as the face of Hindutva and lure the voters on their age-old policy. Yogi had recently also held rallies in Gujarat boasting the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP government and attacking the Congress.

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister addressed rallies in Arki and Haroli in Himachal Pradesh. Lashing out at the ruling Congress government in the state, Yogi said that the party has turned the land of Gods to land of crimes. He alleged that under the rule of Congress, only corruption and crime has grown in the state. He urged the people of Himachal Pradesh to vote for BJP in the upcoming elections and end the mafia rule in the state.

“The Congress has turned the ‘dev bhoomi‘ (land of Gods) into the land of ‘apraadh bhoomi’ (land of crime). It has sullied the name of the state, which is now known for wine forest and mining mafia, and illegal activities,” he said. Taking a jibe at the government in Himachal, he said that the drug mafias are operating freely in the state and the Congress government has chosen to remain quiet over the issue.

Urging the people to vote for BJP, Yogi Adityanath said that the people have shown the way to exit to Congress in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and several other states and now it is the turn of Himachal Pradesh.

Earlier while laying the foundation stone for AIIMS in Himachal Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also attacked the Congress saying that the party is out on bail and it is time, that the people change the government in the state.

BJP Party President Amit Shah will also be joining the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister in Himachal Pradesh today, to address his first public meeting in the poll-bound state. He is scheduled to stay in the state for two days.

BJP party leader informed that Shah will be addressing four rallies during his two-day stay and will also hold the state party’s core group meeting along with many others. According to the sources, Shah will be holding around 15 rallies during the election campaign ahead of the assembly elections due on Nov 9. He will address a meeting each at Banikhet and Chalwara on Monday.

Congress under the rule of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, who has held the CM office from 1983-1990, then from 1993-1998, followed by 2003-2007 and 2012 till present, is confident about keeping the rule to the party. However, BJP also seems to be adamant in putting an end to the term of Congress in Himachal Pradesh by getting a clear majority this time.
