Samajwadi parties Chief Akhilesh Yadav while addressing a press conference on Thursday said that whatever the Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi said during his speech at the University of California will not affect their friendship.

This statement of the SP Chief comes after Rahul Gandhi spoke about the dynast politics followed in India. While addressing the gathering at the University of California in Berkley Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday had said that ”

“Most parties in India have that problem So…Mr Akhilesh Yadav is a dynast. Mr. Stalin (son of M Karunanidhi in DMK) is a dynast…even Abhishek Bachchan is a dynast. So that’s how India runs. So don’t get after me because that’s how they India is run. By the way, last, I recall, Mr. Ambanis are running the business. That’s also going on in Infosys. So that’s what happens in India.”

Responding to this statement of Rahul, Akhilesh Yadav said that history was full of such examples when the sons or family members have succed the post in politics or other fields. He added that across the world there were a number of politicians who got the opportunity to come into politics because of family backgrounds.

“Whatever has been said about dynastic politics, the BJP is extremely worried. Rahul is my friend, whatever he said would have been in the context of UP and national politics,” he said. Akhilesh defending Rahul further added that if the Congress Vice President had been asked about US politics than he could have given examples of dynast politics prevailing there also. He said that in America there was a president whose son also became a president. Then there was one president, whose wife also wanted to be a president.

Akhilesh said that Rahul Gandhi was his friend and the friendship will continue.

During the press conference taking a jibe at the Indian Prime Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that, during his rule as the Prime Minister of Uttar Pradesh, when he had initiated projects in his native place Etawah, the BJP had commented that he did projects there for personal benefits and Saifai. Akhilesh added that now that Narendra Modi had launched the bullet train project in Gujarat from PM’s native state, the BJP will now no longer be able to comment on Akhilesh for starting projects in the homeland.

Akhilesh also attacked the ruling government in Uttar Pradesh led by Yogi Adityanath saying that the promise made by the Chief Minister for the farmer loan waiver was not fulfilled yet. He said that Yogi had been knocking on the doors of the PM, the Niti Ayog, the finance minister, and the RBI but failed in getting any help. “The expenses on an advertisement, arrangement of loan waiver programmes etc would have been more than the loan disbursal,” he claimed.
