Congress has strategically planned a cyber campaign for the first time, fearing that the party might have its last shot in 2017 in Gujarat.

In the presence of Ahmed Patel, the political adviser of Congress President Sonia Gandhi, the IT cell of Congress held a big programme. In Ahmadabad, a cyber war room has already been set up and around 40 workers are working 24×7 to boost up the party’s cyber presence. The party is looking forward to achieve their target of social media campaign in three levels.

Firstly, the campaign will be focusing on the abandoned promises of the BJP in their last manifesto. Secondly, it will focus on how the NDA government led by Narendra Modi, has bought injustice to Gujarat and lastly, it will focus on the new slogan of Navsarjan Gujarat, prime motive being, getting back Gujarat as one state, which is at present sliced in BJP rule.

A software called the SMwarrior is also developed by the cell to keep a track of the social media activity of each member of the cell. Each member is rewarded with points on every like and share on the social media. The greater the number of points the better it is for the workers. Though professional agencies will be added at the later stage to bring in some energy to the campaign.

Currently the IT cells are at block level and the target is to reach to the booth level, with having one member to every booth. The manifesto will include separate vision documents for each, main focus being on the local issues.
