In a bid to provide relief to the farmers in the state, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis organized a meeting over the agriculture-crisis today. The meeting was also attended by the leaders of Shiv Sena that was quite an unusual move as the party is having trouble with the saffron party over the issue of government formation.
The meeting was held at Sahyadri State Guest House. It was reported that the meeting saw the participation of 6 members of Shiv Sena. Prominent Shiv Sena leaders like Eknath Shinde and Ramdas Kadam were also among those who were present in the meeting.
Speaking to the media, Ramdas Kadam said that the participation of Shiv Sena in the meeting iterates the party’s strong will to work for the welfare of farmers. He also said that the party has demanded an immediate compensation of Rs. 25,000 per acre for farmers. In this regard, the state administration has already announced the relief package of Rs. 10,000 crore for the rain-affected areas in Maharashtra.
After the meeting, BJP member Sudhir Mungantiwar iterated the bond of Shiv Sena and Bhartiya Janta Party. He also said that the good news regarding the formation of government is also coming out soon.
