Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Sultanpur Maneka Gandhi on Sunday reached her parliamentary constituency as a part of a three-day visit. She thanked voters in her Lok Sabha constituency for electing her to the 17th Lok Sabha.

Maneka, who was a Union Minister in Narendra Modi‘s previous government said that she will work for every section of the society. Gandhi is expected to stay back at her constituency till Tuesday.

It should be noted that Maneka Gandhi was barred by the Election Commission during poll campaigning for making ‘anti-muslim’ remarks. She reportedly said, ‘After elections, If any Muslim come to me asking for work, then I will think let it be, After all, a giving job is also a deal,” she said, while adding that Muslims here need to understand that she is not like others who will work for everyone without getting their support’.

Gandhi won the recently concluded national polls defeated Chandrabhadra Singh of BSP with a slim margin of around 15,000 votes.

“Thanked the voters and all party cadres for their cooperation, support and affection by reaching Sultanpur in their Lok Sabha constituency today. Resolved to meet the hopes and aspirations of the people of Sultanpur and to extend the leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi’, Maneka Gandhi tweeted.

Speaking about the possibilities of her being appointed as the pro-tem speaker of the parliament, BJP MP said that who wins with a big margin and is a parliamentarian for a long time, is made the Protem Speaker. she is one of them, she added.

Responding on a question about why she not being awarded ministerial berth, Gandhi said the people of Sultanpur will give you the answer of this.

Maneka Gandhi who was a Union Minister of Women & Child Development in the previous government has not been inducted in the Modi Cabinet 2.0.
