Akhilesh Yadav Shivpal

Giving fresh turn to the ongoing discussions about UP’s political scenario, Mulayam Singh Yadav has agreed to attend the national summit of the Samajwadi party, which is to be held on 5th October. Akhilesh Yadav had earlier today, met Mulayam Singh and extended an invitation to attend the annual national summit, which was accepted by the former SP chief.

Talking to media after the father-son meeting, Samajwadi party spokesperson Sunil Sajan told reporters that Akhilesh Yadav met Netaji earlier today and the invitation extended was accepted by him with a confirmation that he will attend the event on October 5th. The event will be held in Agra and if Mulayam Singh Yadav attends it, it will be the first time since Akhilesh Yadav becoming national president of Samajwadi Party that the two will be seen together at a political event.

Until last week, there were speculations suggesting that Mulayam Singh Yadav could announce a new party along with Shivpal Yadav, however, in his last press interaction, Mulayam Singh did not leave any hint about such move. Since then, there were rumours that Mulayam Singh could once again be seen in Samajwadi party camp to guide his son and former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav.

This development has also come as a setback to the Shivpal Yadav camp, which was betting on Netaji’s popularity to gain the initial momentum for the new party. According to sources, Shivpal Yadav could still announce a new party, however, for that, there needs to be a proper communication on Mulayam Singh Yadav’s next move. Because analysts say that just attending the national summit cannot be considered as a sign of Mulayam Singh rejoining the party headed by his son.
