Janata Dal (United) President Nitish Kumar on Wednesday arrived in New Delhi to attend a party meeting. Speaking to media, Bihar Chief Minister called the meeting as a party of routine exercise. “JDU office bearers’ meeting is scheduled to take place on many issues. It’s a normal meeting” Kumar said while responding to a query by a scribe.

Though JD-U Chief termed the meet as ‘normal’, it is expected that party who is an ally of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Bihar likely to discuss the name of the leader who they will push for Cabinet berth in the next government.

JD-U Chief Nitish Kumar in the day also met Bharatiya Janata Party Chief Amit Shah in his residence in the national capital.

JD-U has called a meeting of its Office Bearers in the national capital ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s swearing-in Ceremony which is slated for May 30.

Janata Dal (United) contested the national polls in an alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party. It has bagged 16 out of 17 contested Seat in Bihar that has a total of 40 Lok Sabha Seats. Ram Vilas Paswan’s LJP was also an alliance partner of BJP and JD-U in Bihar.

In the meantime, another giant political player of Bihar, RJD has also called a meeting of all its MLAs and MLCs today to discuss party poor show in Recently held polls.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Alliance in the state swept polls by bagging 39 Seats out of the 40 Lok Sabha Seats. RJD who led the opposition alliance comprising  Congress, RLSPJitan Ram Manjhi‘s HAM, among others faced a humiliating defeat in the national polls concluded on May 23.

The five-party alliance managed to get only one seat of Kishanganj. Dr. Mohammad Jawed of Congress won Kishanganj seat with a margin of 34,466 votes.
