Assembly polls are due in 6 states this year and the coming year. Political parties have started their election campaigns. AAP‘s Rajasthan in-charge Kumar Vishwas also began with party’s campaign in Rajasthan.

Kumar held a meeting of nearly 600 volunteers at the AAP office sitting on the ground, saying that, “I have always sat on the ground. I have never aspired to sit on a throne nor occupy it.” This statement is being regarded as backdrop after poster of Kumar being a traitor and ally of BJP were pasted outside the party office on Saturday. Though the party has distanced itself from the posters.

Addressing the volunteers, who will work in Rajasthan, he said a majority of those who attended the meeting have been a part of the anti-graft movement on which the party was built. He asked the volunteers to be “observers” and not “in-charges” when they go to Rajasthan. “There has been a great enthusiasm among volunteers and an attempt is being made to reach out to the last worker in the party and seek his opinion even in the ticket distribution process,” the AAP leader told reporters.

Earlier, suspended AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan had accused Vishwas of being an “RSS-BJP agent” and of “plotting a coup” in the party. Differences can also be seen between Kumar Vishwas and the the party’s central leadership on the grounds of Vishwas denying the fact that manipulation of electronic voting machines was the prime reason behind its recent string of electoral defeats.
