Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday evening held a mega roadshow in Jharkhand’s Ranchi. PM Modi who was in an open SUV waved his supporters during the roadshow from Birsa Munda Airport to Birsa Chowk in Jharkhand.

The 3 KM long Roadshow saw thousands of party supporters gathered to welcome their Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Supporters cheering for PM Modi shouted slogans like ‘Phir Ek Baat Modi Sarkar’, ‘Modi Modi’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.

‘The life of Bhagwan Birsa Munda epitomizes unparalleled courage. His struggles and sacrifice give strength to millions, especially the poor, marginalized and downtrodden. In Ranchi today, I paid tributes to this great son of the soil’, tweeted PM after the roadshow.

Earlier in the day, PM Narendra Modi cast his vote at Nishan Vidhayla situated in Ahmedabad ranip area. He after casting vote also held a roadshow in Ahmedabad that drew sharp criticism from Congress. Congress approached EC demanding action against PM Modi for violating the poll code.

While Narendra Modi in the day also held rallies in Odisha and West Bengal before holding a roadshow in Jharkhand.

Bharatiya Janata Party in a run-up to polls has named Sanjay Seth against Congress candidate and former union minister Subodh Kant Sahay. While Ramtahal Choudhary, five-time BJP MP, has quit the party and filed nomination as an independent from Ranchi after being denied ticket.

The BJP in the state has forged an alliance with All Jharkhand Students’ Union (AJSU) and has offered a single Lok Sabha Seat. The BJP in a run-up to the polls will take on Congress-led alliance in the State.

Congress has forged an alliance with RJD, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and Jharkhand Vikas Morcha.

In 2014 General Elections, Bhartiya Janta Party banking on ‘Modi Wave’ bagged 7 seats, while JMM and JVM settled for 2 Lok Sabha Seat each. While the remaining seats were bagged by Independent Candidates.

Lok Sabha Polls 2019 has already begun and would spread on Seven Phases starting from April 11 to May 19.

Counting of Votes and Results for the mega Battle of ballots will be announced on May 23 four days after the 7th phase of voting. Voting to 14 Lok Sabha Seats of the state will take place in four phases- April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19.

Ranchi will go to polls on May 6.
