Addressing an election meeting at Doiwala in Uttarakhand, Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh lashed out at Indian National Congress by terming it as a sinking ship, which is being deserted by everyone.

Rajnath Singh was replying to the garbage remark of AICC (All India Congress Committee) Vice President, Rahul Gandhi. Recently, Rahul Gandhi had compared the politicians joining BJP after leaving Congress to garbage. Rajnath Singh commented that as the congress leaders are now with BJP, one of the congress leaders said that BJP had picked up its garbage. However, he needs to understand that Congress is a sinking ship which is being deserted by everyone.

The election campaign in Uttarakhand for the polls on 15th February, has ended on 13th February. Rajnath Singh’s visit and campaigning in the state in the final phase of campaigning has worked like a booster for the state BJP wing. Lately, Congress has been accusing BJP of creating defections within the party, to which, Rajnath Singh replied that there is no one to be blamed for it other than Congress. It has had a hole within and water has entered to such an extent, that it has to sink now. Lately, as many as 12 Congress MLAs from Uttarakhand have joined BJP ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.
