Subramanian Swamy believes that western clothes are a part of “foreign imposed slavishness”, and also suggested that western attire is not “Indian climate friendly”.
Bharatiya Janata Party Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament also gave a few suggestions for the party’s discipline: “Indian climate-friendly clothes” and no alcohol – the former for ministers and the latter, probably, for the entire party.
Article 49 of Const directs alcohol drinks be banned. While I am not for penal action, BJP should make as part of party discipline.

In a series of tweets which had two-part, Swamy said he is against “penal action” when it comes to the Constitution’s direction to ban alcoholic drinks in the country but suggested that BJP a ban on liquor a part of “party discipline”.
Western dress is a foreign imposed slavishness. BJP should make it of party discipline for Ministers to wear Indian climate friendly clothes

In 2016, Swamy had propelled the idea of traditional clothes for Indian ministers, the MP courted controversy as well as party anger by tweeting, “BJP should direct our ministers to wear traditional and modernized Indian clothes while abroad. In coat and tie, they look like waiters.”
The comment was seen as a swipe at Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who was then in China on a five-day trip.
