Rebel party member TTV Dhinakarana who was recently deprived of his post as the party Deputy Chief and expelled from AIADMK thrust a fresh attack on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E Palaniswamy on Friday.

In a statement to the press, Dhinakaran vowed to end the rule of betrayal in a weeks time. He alleged that the Chief Minister was taking a short cut to face the floor test of his government. The ruling AIADMK on Monday playing a tactful move disqualified 18 of its members who were supporting the Dhinakaran camp. He alleged that by doing so the party had wisely reduced the total number of votes needed to clear the floor test. “The short-cut adopted by Palaniswami is he tried to have the floor test by Monday apparently Sep 18 after disqualification of his supporting MLAs,” he said

At present with 21 MLAs safely residing at a resort in Coorg in Karnataka supporting the Dhinakaran faction, AIADMK was falling short of the required number to win. The Tamil Nadu assembly holds a total of 234 seats, from which AIADMK has 134 MLAs including the speaker. After the demise of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, 1 seat is vacant making the total no to 233. From the 233 seats, AIADMK needs the support of  117 MLAs. With 21 MLAs in Dhinakaran camp, the CM was falling short of 4 votes.

The Dhinakaran camp and the opposition party DMK both had approached the Governor of Tamil Nadu seeking for an immediate floor test, which the governor was deliberately delaying giving enough time for the AIADMK to lure back the MLAs. DMK Chief MK Stalin had however warned that he will move to court if the governor does not take any action soon and so did he do.

Stalin knocked on the doors of the Madras high court demanding a floor test for the Tamil Naduu Chief Mnister. The Madras High court on Thursday announced that the floor test will not be conducted until Sep 20.

Dhinakaran also assured that he does not have any connection with DMK or its party chief MK Stalin. He said that DMK was their primary rival. “I repeatedly say that DMK is our primary rival. There is no direct or indirect alliance with that party,” he asserted. Also taking out his anger on AIADMK Dhinakaran said that Palaniswamy had betrayed the trust of VK Sasikala and that he will never be forgiven by the God and even by the people.
