Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday took a jibe at ‘break-up’ of BSPSP Alliance saying their “talaq” was formalized as the voters gave no attention to their propaganda.

Speaking in the Assembly on the Supplementary Budget, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said
“The talaq of the (Samajwadi Party-Bahujan Samaj Party) coalition has been formalized as the people gave no importance to their propaganda. It is clear now that whosoever works for development, people will only support them”.

Chief Minister also launched a scathing attack on the pan India, Anti-BJP front, sought to cement up by TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee. All the alliances and grand alliances have been defeated.

Slamming the TMC, Uttar Pradesh CM said, ‘Elections were held in Uttar Pradesh in seven phases and there was no violence but every phase in West Bengal saw violence. This is the difference,”

Talking about his party’s victory on 64 out of 80 Lok Sabha seats in the state, UP Chief Minister said this is nothing but the ‘confidence of people’ and ‘power of democracy’.

It should be noted that BSP snapped ties with Samajwadi Party on June 4 saying that her party will contest the by-polls on its own in Uttar Pradesh. Mayawati reportedly said that the party believes that the coalition with Samajwadi Party did not work for it in the recently held polls.

Both BSP and SP contested poll together in Uttar Pradesh along with Ajit Singh-led RLD. However, the alliance faced a crushing defeat and could only manage to bag 15 seats

In Uttar Pradesh, BJP bagged 62 seats and with its ally Apna Dal (Sonelal) it took its tally to 64 seats out of the 80 Lok Sabha Seat. While Mahagathbandhan bagged 15 seats –BSP 10 and SP 5 – while Congress only managed to retain its bastion Rae Bareli.
