Will not resign, no confidence motion based on false charges, says Bihar Assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha

Ahead of the special session of the Bihar Legislative Assembly to be held on Wednesday, big politics has started regarding this. More than fifty MLAs of the constituent parties of the grand alliance had given a no-confidence motion on August 10, demanding the removal of Speaker Vijay Sinha.

At the same time, they are forcing him to resign before the special session of August 24, but on Tuesday, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Vijay Sinha refused to resign, setting aside all the things. He not only refused to resign but also rejected the no-confidence motion.

Talking to the mediapersons,  I will not resign protesting the no-confidence motion found as Speaker of the Assembly. Vijay Sinha said that the no-confidence motion is not in accordance with the rules.

“I have been accused of partisanship and a dictatorial attitude. Both allegations are blatantly false. The notice has made unfortunate and baseless allegations which are of a very personal level” he added.

After the Speaker Vijay Sinha refused to resign, Deputy Speaker Maheshwar Hazari has opened a front against the Speaker. Maheshwar Hazari said that the House runs on figures and 164 MLAs are in support, so Vijay Sinha should resign on moral grounds. At the same time, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Choudhary also said that if he does not have a majority, he should resign on moral grounds, otherwise he will be removed.

The resolution against Sinha was submitted to the Assembly secretariat on August 10 under Rule no. 110 of Rules of Procedures and Conduct of Business in the Bihar Vidhan Sabha. The resolution was jointly signed by over 55 MLAs ofthe RJD, JD(U), CPI-ML and other constituents of the grand alliance.

Regarding the special session of the Legislative Assembly to be held on August 24, it is to be believed that a situation of constitutional crisis has arisen. In the absence of the speaker, the deputy speaker Maheshwar Hazari, who is from JD-U, would preside over the proceedings in the assembly.
