AFC and AIFF

Though Indian football team is having a good time and is celebrating seven straight wins, but from the side of All India Football Federation (AIFF), Indian Football is in the same old state.

A stakeholder’s meeting was done on Wednesday to draw a roadmap for Indian football. In that, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) offered recommendations to AIFF but nothing such came out to which we can say that Indian football is making progress.

According to AFC : “Stakeholders in Indian football have agreed a clearly defined roadmap to create the right structure for Indian club football in the coming years which would culminate in a new and sustainable future for the game across the country.

At a roundtable meeting held today Wednesday in Kuala Lumpur – facilitated by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) – a consensus was reached on working together to find the way forward for the development of Indian club football.

These statements confirm that a lot of discussion was done regarding the advancement Indian football but no such ways are till now confirmed. Further on the report, it was written : “In the meeting, it was agreed that the history, commitment and contributions made for more than 100 years as well as the new skills, investments and marketing and promotional skills required respect.”

It is clear that legacy clubs of Indian football like Mohun Bagan and East Bengal along with the new wave of ISL and I-League clubs, both need to be respected.

The players are doing well still the football structure is same. According to AFC, there is very little progress in the the structure of Indian Football.
