According to the sources, the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) consisting of legendary cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman and Sourav Ganguly are not interest in selecting a new coach for India and want Anil Kumble to continue his term till ICC World Cup 2019. In a late night meeting on Thursday between the three officials, it was found that they are not in a mood to replace the current coach as the team has performed well in the last 12 months under him.
On the other hand, if we look as BCCI, only one official, who is believed to be close to former president N. Srinivasan is a critic of Anil Kumble, does not want Kumble to continue. Rest everyone is in the favour of him to continue as coach and does not want any replacement.
The CAC, after discussing for two hours told BCCI CEO Rahul Johri that they would need more time on this matter. A press conference was organised by acting BCCI secretary Amitabh Choudhary, in which, he said,
“The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) of the BCCI met today and discussed the process with regard to the selection of the Head coach of the Senior India Men team and it was decided by the CAC to revert to the BCCI, at an appropriate time.”
