Australia has once again beaten the English team in the second match of the Ashes.

With this win, Australia is now a step closer to winning the series.

If they win a single test out of the remaining three, they will win the series as well.

Whereas England has to win all the remaining matches to win the series.

People also witnessed a great war of words between the news journalists of both countries.

Match Details

By the end of the first innings for both teams, Australia had a lead of 91 runs.

During the first innings for England, Nathan Lyon got injured and he was sent out of the field.

Just before lunch on Day 3, Australia started their second inning.

Australia Innings

Usman Khawaja and David Warner opened the inning for Australia.

They both started great as soon as they completed a partnership of 50 runs.

Josh Tongue didn’t let the partnership grow as he took the wicket of David.

Usman was performing well, as no other batsmen were able to perform that well in the second inning.

Marnus and Smith also played short knocks of 30 and 34 runs but weren’t able to convert them into big totals.

Usman’s knock of 77 runs somehow handled the situation for the Aussies.

Nathan Lyon, despite not being able to walk, came into bat, showing great sportsmanship.

The England bowlers took all the wickets of the Australian team for a score of 279.

Stuart Broad took four wickets, while Josh Tongue and Ollie Robinson took two wickets each.

England Innings

England needed 371 runs to win the match as Zak and Ben opened the Innings for them.

Mitchell Starc gave them an early breakthrough in the form of Zak.

Ben, from one side, was handling the situation, while from the other end, wickets were falling.

England was in great trouble as they lost four wickets for just 45 runs.

Ben completed his half-century as Ben Stokes from the other end started to handle the situation.

Ben Duckett’s 83-run knock saved the game a bit, as Ben Stokes’s 155-run inning made the game closer.

In the end, the Australian bowlers stopped them at 327 runs, and they won by 43 runs.

Australia won the second test as well and took a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.
