The Indian Women’s team beat the England Women’s team to become the champions of the first-ever U-19 World Cup.

International Cricket Council also known as ICC decided to organize the U-19 Women’s World Cup.

It was going to be the first U-19 Women’s World Cup ever to be played.

The World Cup was going to be organized and played in South Africa.

In total 16 countries were going to participate in the U-19 Women’s World Cup.

They were divided into four groups consisting of four teams each.

Group Stages

The group Stages matches were going to be played by the teams.

The top three teams from each group were heading forward in the next group stage round.

In the next round, there were twelve spots that will be decided by the group Stages.

The top twelve teams were divided into two groups of six each.

Group 1 consisted of:
India, Australia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, South Africa, and UAE.

Group 2 consisted of:
England, New Zealand, Pakistan, West Indies, Ireland, and Rwanda.

Second Group Stage

As the second group stage matches started the neck-to-neck competition also started.

India winning three matches out of the four qualified for the semi-final by sticking at the top spot of the group.

Australia had the same stats and also qualified from group 1.

From group 2 England and New Zealand qualified for the semi-finals.

Semi-finals

The semi-finals were to be played between the topper of group 1 and the second of group 2.

And the topper of group 2 and the second of group 1.

India faced New Zealand in the semifinals as NZ batting first scored a total of 107 runs.

Indian Women’s outstanding batting performance achieved the score and qualified for the finals.

England faced Australia in the semifinals as England Women won the match by three runs.

Now, the final was to be played between India and England.

India Women won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Bowling, first they took all the wickets of the England team at a score of just 68 runs.

In return, the top batting order of the Indian team didn’t let others feel any pressure.

The top order alone chased the total to become the first-ever U-19 Women’s World Cup winner.
